Silver is in trouble ~ #SatSpanks

Saturday Spankings-Val Heart Paddles-revHello and happy Saturday! Hoping you got to sleep in and if you’re like me, part of my Saturday morning routine is to grab a nice hot cup of coffee to enjoy while I catch up on smoking hot #SatSpanks excerpts from some of my favorite authors.

Today, I’m sharing a snippet from Silver’s first spanking with Charlie.  She broke one of the house rules and thought she was catching a break to have Charlie deliver her punishment instead of Gabe. Charlie shows her he knows what he’s doing when he has her upended over his knee.

13843437_634383540060770_2077948506_oSnippet:

“Time to lift your skirt up.”

“Excuse me?” she squeaked.

“Punishments are always on the bare.” “But…”

“Yes, on your butt.”

“That’s not what I meant.”

“I know what you meant, darlin. Now, it’s time to raise your skirt and lay yourself over my lap. Or would you like some help?”

“No,” she bit out bitterly.

“Want to try that again?” At her confused look, he raised an eyebrow expectantly.

Her heart rate ratcheted up another notch, unable to deny the effect his dominance was having on her. Her tummy felt like it had butterflies in it doing somersaults she was so nervous. She should be petrified of him, like she’d been with Albert, yet she couldn’t feel real fear. Not from Charlie.

“Yes… sir.” She tried the respectful reply.

“Good girl,” he said, beaming. Her hands reached down to start pulling her skirts up to her waist. She moved at a snail’s pace, delaying as long as she could. Charlie’s eyes locked with her own and she was grateful he wasn’t looking at her bare legs as they came into view.

Once she had complied, she started to worry about his next move. Surely he wouldn’t be so improper as to…

“Let’s untie these drawers now, shall we?” His fingers moved nimbly. Her last undergarment fell to the floor around her ankles and she stood bare from the waist down.

Charlie Walker

Charlie Walker

Blurb:

Emelie Svennson’s dream is to sing on stage. When a musical troupe passes through her home in Wisconsin, she believes her dream will be fulfilled when the leader invites her to be the star of his show. By the time she realizes he is nothing more than an abusive bully and her dream is now her nightmare, she finds herself stranded in San Francisco with no money and on the run from the law.  As she tries to make her way home to her family, she stops in Culpepper Cove and is drawn to the amazing melodies coming from the Red Petticoat Saloon.  The handsome piano player is almost as remarkable as his music.

Charlie Walker adores all of the gems he works with, but from the minute he meets Emelie, he knows there is something special about her. As much as he wants her to stay in Culpepper Cove, the thought of her putting on red petticoats and entertaining men upstairs as Silver cuts him to the core.

As their pasts clash, Charlie will have to work hard to convince his new gem that he will not only love and honor her, but that he won’t hesitate to drag her across his knee for a bare-bottomed spanking that promises to warm more than just her backside.  Can he convince the woman with the voice of an angel that dreams can come true?

Jewel's Gems promo 6
I can’t believe my release day is finally here! When I was invited to write a story for the Red Petticoat Saloon series, I was honored and thrilled. I jumped at the chance to work with so many of my favorite authors on this fun project.

That was last December.

13843437_634383540060770_2077948506_oOnly as I sat down to finally get started writing Charlie and Emelie’s story did it really hit me that I had signed up to write not only an historical romance, but a western to-boot; two new sub-genres I have never written in before. I started out a bit nervous, but I ended up having a blast writing this story. It helped that the authors before me created a rich, full-of-life world in Culpepper Cove with characters we have come to love. It also helped that having written two stories for the Corbin’s Bend series, I felt comfortable writing in an on-going series like The Red Petticoat Saloon.

I want to thank the authors who wrote before me as everyone was able to include cameo appearances of my hero, piano player extraordinaire, Charlie Walker. The first idea for my story came as I contemplated how hard it would be for a man working in the Red Petticoat to fall in love with a gem and then have to watch his woman taking customer’s upstairs night after night. Charlie deals with it about as well as you’d expect.

So I hope you enjoy this next installment of the RPS. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I sure hope you’ll go back and give the whole series a read as each book is awesome and unique.

Cheers and happy reading,
~Livia

Claiming Coral by Maddie Taylor

Blurb:

Balking at pre-arranged marriage number four to a man older than her father, Carissa Fulwiler leaves New York City humiliated and alone, but determined to take her future into her own hands. She travels to California to begin a quiet life on the western frontier as a mail-order-bride to a young man of her own choosing. But fate has never been kind to her and she arrives in Culpepper Cove to find her would-be husband dead from a freak accident, leaving her with little money, no job, and no place to live. With few options, Carissa ends up as Coral, the newest gem at the Red Petticoat Saloon.

Bo Magnusson left his troubled past behind long ago and traveled west. Now that he’s established as a blacksmith who is also the owner of the town’s busy livery stable, he’s ready to settle down and begin a family. The down on her luck lovely redhead who arrives on the stage one day catches his eye and soon his heart. He can tell she is a lady and needs a man to protect her, especially when her dire straits force her to take a job dancing with lonely prospectors at the local saloon. This doesn’t sit well with him and he pursues her only to be politely rejected. But Bo won’t give up trying until she is wearing his ring, even if convincing her means that she’s sporting a bright red bottom while he rekindles her wounded heart and keeps her safe.

Their pasts come calling one day when her father’s man arrives in town ready to drag Coral back to New York by whatever means possible. Tempers rise and secrets are revealed, but when the dust settles, will Bo at last claim the stubborn young woman’s hand, or will the treachery and vindictiveness of those who are dead set against their love tear them apart?

Livia’s Note:   This book started out with an awesome first scene and didn’t stop from there.  Holy, moly is Bo one hot Dom.  I wanted to smack Coral for not trusting him sooner, but she was only trying to protect him from the curse.  Maddie Taylor weaves a great story you won’t want to put down.

Rose’s Redemption by Dinah McLeod

Blurb:

Rose is a career prostitute that lucks out when Madame Jewel picks her up to be one of her gems. Hardened by the life she’s had, she doesn’t believe in love until she meets Thomas Rockwell, who shows her what a real man is like.

Livia’s Notes: That Rose is one tough cookie.  She just kept refusing to believe that she deserved to be happy.  Dinah did a great job of getting inside her character’s heads, taking us on the journey with them. I was thrilled with the ending of this love story.

About The Red Petticoat series:

The Red Petticoat Saloon series is a collection of books written by #1 and USA Today bestselling authors. Each book tells the unique story of a different woman, ‘a gem’, who comes to the saloon to find a safe haven and discovers they become part of a family. Recurring characters appear in each book to allow readers a continuity as they learn about the women who have learned to bend but have not broken under the harshness that life has to offer. It is a series where strong, loving men find not only entertainment at the saloon but the special women who reside under its roof.

Series Spotlight: The Red Petticoat Saloon ~ Part 4

Part four of a five part series.

I was thrilled to be invited to participate in the Red Petticoat Saloon Series. My publisher, Blushing Books, is known for hot historicals and westerns so it was no surprise that the hottest D/s series of the year are Jewel’s Gems and the dominant men who love them.

We’ve been counting down to my release on 8/24 by highlighting the ten books that are already out and available.  Of course I’ve read them all and can’t wait to share them with you.

Book Seven:

51FiLOsIDsL._SY346_Pearl’s Possession by Lee Savino

Blurb:

Five husbands; one Possessed Pearl.

When Pearl starts working as a gem at The Red Petticoat saloon, she knows she’s found the place where she belongs. After all, her husband cast her out for being too lusty of a wife. She quickly comes to enjoy her clients, especially her five constant regulars, so much so, that when one of her regulars proposes marriage, she declines. How can one man satisfy her?

Things change when all five of her regulars come to her with a marriage proposal—live with them as a bride to five husbands.

Can Pearl face her fear of marriage and allow herself to be claimed by not one man, but five?

Livia’s Note: Lee Savino is the queen of menage and in this case Pearl took on not one or two husbands, but FIVE.  This book was brimming with smoking hot sex scenes and men who love to take care of their gem.  It was a guilty pleasure read to be sure.

Book Eight:

51bQ+xThc5LJade’s Dragon by Maren Smith

Blurb:

Cast out of China, Chin knows all about how hard life in a foreign country can be, especially for a woman on her own. Given the name Jade and a job packing in the crowd as an exotic dancer at the Red Petticoat, Chin thinks she’s finally carved a safe and secure place for herself when, looking out across the dance hall, she spies the son of the man who murdered her family. Panicking, she flees into the night, into the worst storm in living memory.

Struggling on a failing ranch, neither Cullen Drake nor his brother Garrett has any idea how to combat the illness ravaging their herd. But the night Cullen finds himself slogging after sick cows during the worst storm in California’s history, he happens to be in the right place at the right time. At first, he thinks it’s a child he’s rescued from a flashflood. It’s not until he gets her home that he realizes Chin is every inch a woman grown… and a woman on the run.

Chin knows better than anyone the risks of staying too long in one place or letting people get too close. Yet the harder she tries to escape, the worse off she becomes until finally, sick and wounded, she finds herself unable to run. Her past is closing in, but Cullen has a past of his own and a fearsome determination to protect, whether she wants him to or not. Having been a bad man once himself, he knows he can handle whatever—or whoever—has Chin so afraid. Unfortunately for her, he also knows how to handle young ladies more interested in running than behaving.

Livia’s Note: Maren Smith never disappoints.  Jade is not your average heroine by any means. She is one tough cookie and I even found myself shouting at her to trust Cullen sooner.  I can’t wait until Cullen’s brother gets his own story. You’ll love this book!

You can find a copy of Jade’s Dragon here.

Book Five:

His Sweet Amber by Sue Lyndon511at3dInQL

Blurb:

Having known nothing but heartbreak and betrayal in Culpepper Cove, Callie Smith seeks refuge at The Red Petticoat Saloon. To the young widow’s utter shock, on her first night working upstairs, former love interest Pastor Lawrence Black bids an ungodly amount of money for an evening with her. After his dominant lovemaking leaves her breathless, he stuns her with a marriage proposal. But how can a soiled dove become a pastor’s wife? Despite her stubborn refusal, he insists she’s become his wife-in-truth and returns night after night, not allowing any other men to touch her.

As time goes on, Callie finds it increasingly difficult to ignore her growing feelings for the stern but kind, handsome widower who issues firm commands in the bedroom and doesn’t hesitate to spank her bare bottom when she disobeys. Truth is, she’d be proud to call Lawrence her husband, but surely her reputation would hinder his calling to become the town pastor. Will he succeed in convincing Callie she’s meant to be his wife?

Livia’s Note:  I adored this story.  Before I started reading, I wasn’t sure how the pastor would end up with a gem, but Sue Lyndon weaved an awesome story with deep characterization and back story for both Callie and Lawrence.  I loved this couple and was so happy they got to make several appearances in Melting Silver.

Book Six:

Caring for Citrine by Alta Hensley513mlz7LQeL

Blurb:

A captivating new standalone novel in The Red Petticoat Saloon Series from USA Today bestselling author Alta Hensley…

Sickly. A whore. On her own.

That is how Della would describe herself, or did until she became a gem at The Red Petticoat Saloon. Still sickly, and still a whore, at least she wasn’t on her own any longer. She had become Citrine, one of Jewel’s gems, and she wore the name proudly.

It wasn’t until she became deathly ill that she realized just how much people truly cared about her. She had her friends at The Red Petticoat, and she soon had the care of the town doctor—Dr. Anson Norwood.

Dr. Norwood promises her that he will fix all that is wrong with his patient and treat her like the gem she truly is. But will the shadows of her past, as well as the ones of Anson Norwood, get in the way? Can she allow the good doctor to fully care for his Citrine?

Livia’s Note: Alta Hensley is having one hot 2016 with so many great releases.  This story is no exception.  We already loved Dr. Norwood from other appearances, but it was wonderful getting to know him better.  I loved the vulnerability of Citrine and how loved she is by the Red Petticoat ‘family’. She is especially close to Charlie and I’m thrilled that the Norwoods make an appearance in Melting Silver as well.
